Norman Cherry - Potter
Norman has had more than 25 years experience as a professional potter since completing a four year course at Sheffield Hallam University. He specialises in domestic ware and garden/patio pots using stoneware clays.
The domestic ware is wheel thrown, the emphasis being good shapes and thin walls, and high fired in an electric kiln.
Garden and patio pots are hand coiled or slabbed and are fired in a wood burning kiln. Ash settling on the pots and melting produces glazes of varying colours and subtlety. The flames passing through the kiln leave intriguing patterns and shapes haphazardly round the pots so each pot is unique.
The domestic pots are dishwasher, microwave and oven proof and the garden pots frost proof.
