Influences on these two artists vary from abstract to romantic. Both seek to imbue their work with the atmosphere that is inherent in the natural world. To be outside and paint a scene over days or even weeks is to get to know a small piece of the world, its differing moods, in detail. That is what they hope to convey in their paintings.
